Here’s some of what I’ve done. You may also be interested in what I’m up to now.

Software engineering

I started coding when I was 12. Ever since, I’ve built projects across a handful of languages, including JavaScript, Python, Ruby, PHP, and most recently TypeScript. In 2023, I completed coursework in full-stack development at The Odin Project.

I’ve been writing for as long as I remember. From 2018-2023, I ran a small content marketing agency, which helped me hone my research and editing skills to boot. I’ve written for sites like Smashing Magazine, Zapier, AT&T, and WooCommerce.

Latin American culture

I lived in Mexico for about 10 years. First in in Tijuana, Baja California (2006-2010) and in Guadalajara, Jalisco (2018-2023). I’m fascinated by culture and how much our identity is shaped by where we grow up.

I’ve been doing some form of strength training for years. Right now I’m trying to add those pesky 25 lbs. that have kept me from the 1000-lb. club my whole life.

I got a guitar for Christmas when I was 11, and I’ve been playing on and off ever since. I know enough to fool people into thinking I can actually play, which has been a lifelong accomplishment. I play a Martin 000-15M and Fender Stratocaster.
